LSE's Inequalities Institute Researches Tax Justice

The founder, CEO, and chief investment officer of Granite Point Capital, Warren Lammert possesses more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Before founding Granite Point Capital, Warren Lammert graduated with a master’s degree in economic history from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences (LSE) in the United Kingdom.

A leading public research university in Europe, LSE is home to the International Inequalities Institute (III), which takes an interdisciplinary approach to researching the root causes of escalating inequalities worldwide. Also seeking to identify tools to address these structural inequalities, III will focus on five different topic clusters during a research project scheduled to last until 2022.

One of those research clusters focuses on the theme of wealth, elites, and tax justice. The research will draw on the knowledge of LSE academics and international research partners, including the African Centre for Excellence in Inequality Research and the Southern Centre for Inequality Studies at the University of Witwatersrand. The project aims to measure and conceptualize wealth inequality and develop comparative studies of global plutocracies under the overarching theme of tax justice.
